WHAT BETTER WAY TO HAVE A SHORT INSPIRATIONAL BREAK than a 2 day getaway?
NO PRIOR SKETCHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THIS WORKSHOP
Patty Edge - aka The Sketching Doc on Instagram is coming to Victoria for a fabulous 2 day workshop in the historic country town of Maldon in Victoria, Australia, one and a half hours drive North of Melbourne.
A medical doctor as well as a popular sketcher and watercolour artist, Patty will share her knowledge and experience with you on this 2 day workshop.
Learn how to sketch confidently while travelling, whether you're exploring a new country or wandering your local town.
Over two relaxed, inspiring days we’ll focus on travel sketching first
- simplifying buildings
- choosing strong subjects
- capturing a sense of place with expressive line and colour.
Sketchers with no experience or lots of experience are welcome.
You work at your own pace and will get as much pleasure out of the workshop as those who are new to this experience.
And we will all have lots of fun. Which is most important!

See Patty's work here on Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/thesketchingdoc/?hl=en

ACCOMMODATION SUGGESTIONS: HURRY.
We highly recommend you book as soon as possible as Maldon is a very popular town and weekend accommodation gets snapped up.
Wednesday and Thursday accommodation is a little easier to get. (You may want to stay Friday night or the weekend too?)
- Maldon Motel is our first suggestion. It's a great little motel with lovely facilities including a pool.
(NB: you BYO breakfast stuff as fridge, toaster, tea/coffee making facilities, and microwave oven are provided in each room.)
Call Adrian or Olivia on 0447 123 395 or book on line at this link: https://www.motelmaldon.com/
2. Maldon Getaways also offer local houses and cottages for rent for short stays and you can see what they have available for Wednesday March 25 - Friday March 27 or later…?
Stay for the weekend and explore historic Maldon.

3. Eaglehawk Hotel is an historic guest house available to rent out as a group (no staff on site) with 5 historic bedrooms and 3 beautiful bathrooms.

4. The Little Barn Maldon is a delightful separate private room and facilities hosted stay with a friend of ours called Kim. Call her on 0414 271 900
5. Palm House is a historic house B&B in town: https://palmhouse.net.au/
Maldon is Australia's FIRST NOTABLE TOWN and is preserved as a 19th century gold-mining village. Its main street has appeared in many period dramas and movies and it is a delight to visit and to sketch.
You may like to take your new skills and practise around Maldon on the weekend.

Central Victoria. We recommend you drive up if you live in Victoria, as there is little public transport.
The nearest train to and from Melbourne Southern Cross is into Castlemaine Railway station and you can pre-book a taxi to take you to Maldon from there.
Coming from interstate?
Easy. We can help you with this, let us know.
Yes minimum numbers have been reached.
Please go ahead and book your accommodation in Maldon as soon as you are registered on this workshop.
