Albert has a degree from the Academy of Arts in Maastricht in teaching art.
He now works in the computer-based picture-making industry.
In 2016 he started producing a sketch every day because of his love of depicting architecture. His sketches are done with coloured pens on paper but his style can also be used with other media such as watercolour and ink.
He now has more than 75,000 students on his highly successful course on Domestika, he has nearly 300k followers on Instagram and has written his book "Housesketching"
This is a fabulous opportunity to meet Albert, sketch with him and see first hand how he works his magic as well as create a fabulous visual Travel Journal of your trip to Korea.
KOREA
Fly into Seoul Korea and settle in to our lovely hotel with restaurant, pool and rooftop bar.
Our hotel is in the lovely Buddhist area of Seoul with a rich diversity of new and old buildings to sketch as well as a variety of quirky TEA HOUSES (one has a railway line running through it and another has birds flying around its ceilings!)
Our host and guide in Korea is Australian Jamie Heffernan who runs professional tours to Korea and Japan, studied at university in Korea, speaks fluent Korean and understands the people, the culture and daily life there.

- Stroll through the charming streets of Insadong, renowned for its antique shops, traditional tea houses, and vibrant culture.
- Speak with and sketch local monks in Seoul's oldest temple.
- Group dress-up in traditional costume and do a people sketch together of each other
- Wander the extraordinary Cheonggyecheon Stream - Seoul's own HiLine with 12 kms of reclaimed green belt in the city centre.
- Wander through Bukchon Hanok Village, a picturesque area showcasing beautifully preserved traditional Korean houses.
- Take part in an hilarious hands-on Korean cooking class in a local home in her rooftop kitchen, learning to prepare authentic Korean dishes and then sketching and eating them!
- Experience the thrill of high-speed travel on the KTX train to Jeonju, a city famous for its Hanok Village and culinary delights.
- Stay in a traditional Hanok house (all with modern facilities and comforts) immersing yourself in Korea's architectural beauty and serene ambiance.
- Walk and sketch through the breathtaking landscapes of Sorak National Park, renowned for its scenic mountain views and diverse wildlife.
- A day trip up to the DMZ to experience the division between North and South Korea
You will be paying for this tour in AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS as we are an Australian company.
COST PER PERSON for 9 DAYS in 4 star quality accommodation, including your tour host, guest artist, your guide and local expert at all times:
- TWIN SHARE IN A ROOM: $7,995 AUD
- SOLO TRAVELLER IN OWN ROOM: $9,385 AUD
- Non-sketching participant: $7,450 AUD if sharing a room with sketcher
This includes ALL MEALS, all accommmodation and all ground transport whilst on tour (not flights)
International airfares to Seoul are NOT included in the land price
International travel insurance which is mandatory on all our tours
All other meals not included in the itinerary
Once you have paid your deposit we will let you know immediately when the tour has reached minimum numbers and is a definite departure.
4 star quality hotels with air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms and well-appointed bedrooms
We can assist with all advice regarding visas, flights and being met at your incoming and outgoing airports.
The tour price does not include your flight to and from Seoul
We will give you a welcome map, a Tap card and travel kit and every help getting you from the airport to our train station where we will personally meet you upon arrival and escort you to our hotel.
September is considered one of the best times to visit Seoul. The weather is generally mild and comfortable from mid-month, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sketching.
