September 1- 10 in 2022, join our fully escorted Travel Sketching tour with Ian Fennelly seeing and sketching the highlights of epicurean Sicily. This is a tour for anyone and everyone. You do not have to be an experienced sketcher at all. Ian will show you his easy style and help you to achieve your own wonderful results in your own way. Those non-sketchers are welcome if they are travelling sharing with a sketcher as there is just so much to see and explore in this trip.
You get to immerse yourself in the gorgeous towns of Palermo, Agrigento, Ragusa, Ortygia and Catania.

Your experienced tour manager and guide Kate Stedman is an historian, art lover and avid sketcher and she will take you to her favourite spots and regale you with fun facts and historic gems each day as well. Our tour group will practise covid-safe measures where at all appropriate whilst on tour. We value your health and safety.

Ian studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art and gained a 1st Class Honours degree, is a professional artist whose artwork sells worldwide, has over 80,000 followers on Instagram and is a qualified teacher as well as a senior instructor for Urban Sketchers. See more of his unique pen and watercolour artwork on Instagram at @ianfennelly

Beginning in Palermo the afternoon of September 1
Ending after breakfast September 10 in Catania in Sicily we visit 6 exquisitely beautiful and varied towns to sketch magnificent Greek temples, twisted cobbled laneways, scenic vistas, honey-coloured domed churches, sandstone Roman ruins and so much more.

Each morning we will sketch 2 to 3 hours with Ian Fennelly teaching us in a “plein aire” location. Ian chooses the subject and the site and the scene for us and then takes us gently through the process of painting a watercolour sketch of it, explaining composition, colour choice and brush use. Your afternoons are free to continue to sketch or to explore or spend time relaxing.
